Telangana govt to serve meals at Rs 5 for patient’s attendant in 18 govt hospitals

The Telangana state government will be serving meals at a cost of 5 rupees for those who are accompanying patients in 18 government hospitals in Hyderabad from today. Nutritious and hygienic food will be served three-times for Rs. 5 per meal to an estimated 20,000 patient attenders at these hospitals, on daily basis.

The Telangana State Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMSIDC) will implement the scheme with the help of Hare Krishna Movement (HKM). The meal will cost of 26.25 rupees, of which the attenders of patients will pay 5 rupees while the rest of the subsidy amount of 21.25 rupees per meal will be borne by the government.
