Teejan Bai to explain ‘Pandwani’ at INTACH workshop

Bhilai, Sep 25: The Durg-Bhilai unit of INTACH’s (Indian National Trust of Art and Cultural Heritage) Heritage Education and Communication Services (HECS) is organising a virtual workshop on September 26 under the series of workshops organised on the endangered Arts and Crafts. Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai will speak about the folk singing tradition of ‘Pandwani’ before about 150 children and teachers from various schools of Durg-Bhilai and Balod districts. She will also answer the queries of the students. Teejan Bai will also give a presentation of her art form in this workshop. Renowned litterateur and folk-art expert Dr Pardeshi Ram Verma will deliver a lecture on the topic ‘Historical and cultural side of Pandwani’. Purnima Dutt, Principal Director, Heritage Education and Communication Services (HEC), INTACH, will also express her views, informed Dr DN Sharma (Convenor, INTACH, Durg – Bhilai).
