Cabinet Secretary discusses with Chief Secretaries regarding public health

Raipur, Jul 03: The Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, Rajiv Gauba, on Friday discussed in detail with the Chief Secretaries of all the states about the effect of coronavirus (Covid-19) on public health from New Delhi. The Cabinet Secretary reviewed the status of Covid-19 state-wise. He directed to ensure necessary action to prevent the spread of corona. The Cabinet Secretary has also given instructions to ensure adherence to the new guideline issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Taking part in video conferencing from Chhattisgarh, Health Department Secretary Mrs Nikarika Barik Singh informed the Cabinet Secretary about 6 districts of the state where corona infection cases are more active.
The Health Secretary requested the Cabinet Secretary to increase the testing facility in the state and provide the facility of testing machine in the private hospitals also on which Cabinet Secretary Mr Gauba instructed DGICMR of Government of India to take action.
Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary, Food and Transport Department also attended the video conferencing. The cabinet secretary has emphasized on maximum corona testing in all states and directed the officials to ensure prompt treatment of corona positive patients.
The Cabinet Secretary also reviewed the facilities of ICU beds and ventilators in the states. Senior officials of Health and Family Welfare, Home and other departments of the Government of India participated in the video conferencing.
