Panic gripped Mana area on Sunday morning following recovery of suspicious bomb like objects in a lane in Block-11 locality. Police and explosives experts rushed to the spot and safely took away the object to a secluded and dismantled it.
To utter surprise, the paper bundles carried ganja and firecracker explosives and it was more a mischief than any other malicious intention. According to police, Mana police station received information in the morning that suspicious bomb like objects are lying in a lane in Block-11 locality. Immediately, a police team accompanied by explosive experts from the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and forensic department rushed to the spot.
Soon they were joined by senior police officers. Preliminary inspection of the paper bundles, which were concealed under a cloth bag and inter-connected through an electrical wire, revealed that explosives are there in them. This revelation created more panic in the locality and it was decided to take them away from there at the earliest and diffuse or dismantle them at some other safer place.
However, when the suspicious objects were finally dismantled, it came as a shock to all because the three of those paper bundles were filled with ganja and the other one contained firecracker explosives and the electric wire passing through them was more to create panic rather than causing any harm as no detonator was tied to it nor did those packets contained high explosive. Police is now trying to find out the miscreants responsible for this mischief.
