State govt relaxes rule on provision of 10% posts

Raipur, May 23: Chhattisgarh government has relaxed the rule on provision of ten percent posts for compassionate appointment. The government has given relaxation in the limit of ten percent posts till 31 May 2022 in an effort to sort out pending cases of compassionate appointment on class 3 posts of direct recruitment.
The General Administration Department of the State Government today issued circulars to all the departments of the Government, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Revenue Board, Bilaspur, all the Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners and Collectors in compliance with the decision taken at a cabinet meeting held on May 18 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for relaxation in limit of posts for compassionate appointment.
According to circular revised instructions have been issued by the General Administration Department in the year 2013 regarding grant of compassionate appointment to the dependent member of family of government servant in the event of untimely demise during service. In the circular issued at that time, it was directed that compassionate appointment will not be more than ten percent of the total posts sanctioned in the cadre for class 3 posts of direct recruitment.
In the circular issued today by the General Administration Department, it has been stated that presently it has come to the notice of the government that due to the limitation of ten percent posts for compassionate appointment the cases of compassionate appointment are pending before some departments and their sub-ordinate offices. In an effort to sort out the pending cases of compassionate appointment, the state government has relaxed the limit of ten percent posts previously provisioned till May 31, 2022.
