Six arrested with illicit liquor

Bhilai, Jul 14: Police have arrested six persons involved in illegal trade of liquor. On the directions Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal and under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Anant Sahu and SDOP Patan Akash Rao Giripunje, Patan Police took action against the people involved in illegal smuggling and trade of liquor.
Inspector Shivanand Tiwari (SHO, Patan) informed that they activated the network of informers and took action against the bootleggers. Vinod Verma (42) son of Madan Verma a resident of Funda was held with 13 quarters of liquor; Sunil Verma son of Gopal Varma a resident of village Funda was arrested with 12 quarters of country liquor; Puran Thakur (27) son of Ram Thakur a resident of village Funda was arrested with 13 quarters of liquor; Jitendra Sahu (37) son of Ghanshyam Sahu a resident of Santra was arrested with 39 quarters of country liquor and Khilawan Verma (34) son of Sharda Verma a resident of village Semri was arrested with 15 quarters of liquor.
A total of 20 litres of country-made liquor worth Rs 10000 was confiscated from the accused and the accused were arrested and sent to jail on judicial remand. ASI Surendra Taram, Ramon Sahu, Constable Human Sahu, Kamal Sahu, Motilal Pandey, Fargo Verma and Chandradev Varma played a vital role in arresting the accused.
