Bhilai, Sep 24: Police have arrested six ruffians on charges of attacking two youth and inflicting fatal injuries on them. The sharp weapons used in the crime have been recovered from their possession. ASP (City) Rohit Jha informed that on September 23 late evening, the victims Arun Kumar Prasad and Manjeet Singh were moving on a scooty near Subhash Square in Khursipar. They were intercepted by the accused Askash Sharma, Sumit Singh, Manish Soni, Miraaj, Harjeet and Dharmendra near Subhash Square. The accused started arguing with the victims over some old dispute and soon they attacked them with sharp weapons. Arun suffered injuries on legs and back abdomen while Manjeet Singh suffered fatal injuries at six spots on the back abdomen.
On receiving information, police team swung into action and the accused were arrested within six hours of the crime. Two nos sharp cutters and one nos iron knife were recovered from the accused identified as Akash Sharma (19) of Subhash Market Khursipar; Sumit Singh (20) a resident of Balaji Nagar; Manish Soni (21) of Shri Ram Square, Khursipar; Mirza alias Miraaj (22) a resident of Zone 2 Khursipar; Harjeet Singh (24) a resident of Zone 3 Khursipar; and Dharmendra Tondon (21) a resident of Shivaji Nagar, Khursipar. They have been booked under the provisions mentioned in sections 341, 294, 323, 307, 427, 147, 148, 149 of IPC.
