Raipur, Sep 18: Silence on part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Organization on the issue of yardstick for the ticket distribution for the upcoming Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly elections has put the aspirants in quandary.
Several aspirants who had been pro-active for last several months to contest the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections on BJP tickets, have gone on passive mode as they have been able to get any positive signals from the party high command on the issue.
Only few heavy-weights who had lost the last elections are pressing hard before the Organizational leaders urging to provide them another opportunity in the next elections.
Amidst the prevailing scenario, the party high command is busy with strategy for the 41 seats which are with the opposition Congress and other parties.
It is understood that it has drawn the roadmap in several seats but few segments still remains puzzle for them.
Entry of bureaucrat OP Choudhary into BJP has given solution for few seats in Raigarh District which has been a concern for the Organization in the past. Seats which are presently being held by BJP in Raigarh District too has become difficult for the ruling party as the principal opposition Congress has taken steps to recapture its citadel. One such leader from Raigarh who had been active over the years for party ticket and had been pro-active in various social and religious engagements in Raipur, too has shed his aggressive approach following lukewarm response from the party high command on the issue of ticket for the next Legislative Assembly elections.
Members of Parliament from Sarguja as well as Bastar too want to return back to Chhattisgarh politics instead of Central role. Both of them have been seeking a response over contesting the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections but all their attempts are reported to be in vain.
However, these leaders are expecting that the two-day visit of BJP Chief Amit Shah to Chhattisgarh from September 21 may clear the air on the issue which in the process would also set the momentum for the elections.
