Set cent percent vaccination target for urban areas: Singh

Mahasamund, Jul 22: District Collector Doman Singh has advised officials to set targets for cent percent vaccination for COVID 19 in the region. He instructed Joint Collector Sunil Kumar Chandravanshi and CEO Municipal Cooperation AA Halder to implement the plan at the earliest to set vaccination targets for regions, Bagbahra, Tumgaon, and Basna. He instructed officials to emphasize vaccination targets in urban areas as priority first, so as the curb the spread towards rural areas, and other non vaccinated individuals.
According to Assistant Immunization Officer Dr. Mukund Rao, informed that a total of 18,939 people in Mahasamund are still to be inoculated, of which 816 are from Tumgaon, 2218 from Baghbahera, and 1,131 from Basna. A door to door education cum counseling method is being deployed to evade vaccine hesitancy among the masses he said.  It needs to be recalled here that a total of 4, 33,792 people have been vaccinated in the region, of which health personnel’s account for 8835, Frontline workers 5900, during the first phase of vaccination.
