Korba: Government had promoted Dharelal Divyakar to the post of principal at Government Higher Secondary School, Umreli. However, Divyakar has not received salary for past 5 months, as District Education Officer Satish Kumar Pandey has refused to recognise him at this capacity. Now he has written a letter to district collector, stating that unless he receives his salary within next one week, he will initiate fast unto death, along with his family.
Dharelal Divyakar had been working as a lecturer at Mayur Dongar School at Kondagaon district of Bastar division. He was promoted to the position of principal on 6th October, 2018, and transferred to Higher Secondary school, Umreli. He gave his joining after 6 days, but DEO Pandey has refused to recognize him at the position. Pandey has stated that Divyakar was promoted at Kondagaon and hence, he must be appointed there. Anothet revised order was issued by Raipur ministry on 25th of February.
Again, Divyakar was apointed at Umreli. However, DEO refused the revised order as well. He has stated that the position is currently occupied by principal SK Dubey, who was attached to livelihood college, four years ago. However, the attachment has now come to an end. On the other hand, it needs a mention that Dubey is cancer patient and does not come to school regularly, while Divyakar is regular in his duties. Currently, both the principals are working at the same school.
All these disputes between two principals are taking a toll on studies at the school. Also, Divyakar has not received salary for past five months. He has written several letters to district and state level officers, but of no avail. Finally, he has written letter to district collector, announcing to start fast unto death, after one week. He added that he had a heart surgery few days ago, and he is also a diabetes patient. He said that the responsibility of any harm to his health shall lie with the DEO.
On the other hand, DEO Satish Pandey said that one principal is already working as principal at Higher Secondary School, Umreli, as per the government orders. On the other hand, Dharelal Divyakar has been transferred to the same position. As it is impossible to draw the salary of two principals at the same school, the matter has turned into a tussle between the two. A letter has been written to the government for resolving the issue.
