School employee held for criminal breach of trust

Bhilai, May 30:
Police have arrested an absconding accused who was wanted in a case of criminal breach of trust. The accused worked at a private school and had embezzled more than Rs 10 lakh of the institution. FIR was lodged against him in the month of November last year and since then he was absconding. Recently he was arrested from Raipur.
SDOP (Patan) Rajeev Sharma informed that they had received complaint from one Sanjay Kumar Sharma, who is the principal of a private school situated in village Bhothli. He alleged that an employee Premanand Mahanand (30) son of Raiguru Mahanand a resident of Siddheshwari Nagar, Kota, Raipur had embezzled Rs 10, 00, 575 of the school. The accused had informed the school management that one unused receipt book was missing. The accused then utilised this receipt book for collecting fee of session 2017-18 from several students. He collected Rs 10, 00, 575 as fee from parents and escaped with the money. After lodging a complaint, police was regularly making efforts to trace the absconding accused. On May 28, police received tip off regarding his presence in Jyoti Nagar area of Raipur. Team from Amleshwar Police Station immediately swung into action and the accused was arrested from Raipur. During interrogation, he confessed to have committed the crime. The accused was produced before the court and has been sent to jail on judicial remand.
Inspector Manjulata Rathore, ASI Harish Sahu, Constable Poshan Sahu, Jhumuklal Yadav, Uttam Deshmukh and Gaukaran Baghel played vital role in arresting the accused.
