The members of Sarva Adivasi Samaj (SAS) have also strongly condemned the murder of 10 tribals in Sonbhadra district of UP. He said that the people’s mind-set towards the Dalits and Tribals has still not changed and charged that they are not getting justice.

The murderers are not having any fear of the law and this clearly shows failure on part of the government in power in the state, he alleged. Speaking on the issue of ‘Van Adhikar Patta’, former Union Minister said that on Feb 13, the Court through a petition has ordered to oust the forest people residing in the Jungle and not having land-lease of the forest land on which they are living or are illegally living should be ousted from July 31.

Though a stay-order on this has been obtained based upon request by the state government, but in the hearing on July 24, report on the action taken by the state government has to be presented before the Court. The people from tribal community and those residing in forest for long are fearful of being ousted from their land, he added.
