‘Rural women are becoming self-reliant in Rural Industrial Park built in Gauthans’

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel along with Shri Sachin Rao inspected the Gauthan built in Paragaon under the Garuva component of the Suraji Gaon Yojana, being run to strengthen the rural economy of Chhattisgarh, as per the dreams of Gandhiji. He took stock of the economic activities being carried out in the Rural Industrial Parks set up by self-help groups in Gauthans.
During the inspection at Gauthan in Paragaon, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel and Mr. Rao inquired about the poultry farming, goat rearing, vegetable production, pasture development, soap and phenyl manufacturing, making of earthen decoration items and diyas being done by the women’s groups. The Chief Minister encouraged women’s groups. While discussing with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the women of Paragaon Gauthan Samiti told that 5 self-help groups are working here, in which 3 groups are doing the work of bari development, one group poultry rearing and one group is engaged in goat rearing.
Mithila Nishad, a member of Jai Maa Ganga group, told that 3 acres of land has been provided to her group by the government for the development program, in which pumpkin, ladyfinger, gourd and other vegetables have been planted by the members of the group. She told that at the cost of 35 thousand, she has got a profit of about 75 thousand rupees. Along with the development of the bari, green fodder Napier grass is also being produced by the members of the group on 2 acres of land. After the use of green fodder in Gauthan, the women of the group earned a profit of about 56 thousand rupees by selling it to other groups. On this occasion Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, Urban Administration Minister Shri Shiv Dahriya, other public representatives, Special Secretary Dr. Bharathidasan, Collector Raipur Mr. Saurabh Kumar and Chief Executive Officer of Zila Panchayat Mr. Mayank Chaturvedi and many senior administrative officers were present.
