RTO seizes private cars being used as taxies

Bhilai, Sep 01: On Wednesday, a team of Regional Transport Office seized almost a dozen of private cars which were being used as taxies. Most of these vehicles were reportedly hired by Bhilai Steel Plant through agencies for conveyance of the executives.
The seized vehicles have been kept at Bhatti Police Station. Bhilai Nagar MLA Devendra Yadav had raised this issue few weeks ago.
According to information, the flying squad of RTO, Durg camped near Main Gate on Wednesday morning and intercepted the cars which were being used by the Executives of Bhilai Steel Plant.
The squad found that many vehicles, which were registered as Private Cars, were being used as taxies. The squad found that these vehicles were not possessing taxi permit, fitness certificate, radium stickers, etc, which are mandatory for the vehicles which are being used for commercial purposes.
The flying squad seized all those vehicles and kept them at Bhatti Police Station. The vehicle owners have been asked to give their clarification and produce necessary documents.
Sub Inspector Santosh Harpal, Head Constable JK Singh, Ajay Pal Yadav, Amit Singh, Vijay Thakur and others of RTO Flying Squad conducted the checking drive.
