Rs 100 cr penalty slapped for inordinate delay in construction

Raipur: After strict vigilance and instructions by High Court it is being claimed by NHAI that six-lane-four lane would be finished by August 14, however inordinately delayed in project is going to cost dearly to the government exchequer.

Viewing the huge loss whopping penalty of worth Rs 100 cr is being slapped on the contractors. In last hearing in High Court has stringently instructed NHAI that construction of Raipur- Bilaspur six lane- four lane should be accomplished till August 14 at all conditions and it formal inaugural should be ensured soon.

It is informed that after the instructions of the High Court construction of the unfinished parts of the road is expedited. Officials of NHAI claim that till the deadline fixed by the High Court maximum construction would be finished. If any bridge or culverts remains to be finished then we would apply for the extra breather from the Court. It is noteworthy that High Court is hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) and in vigil of the six-lane, four-lane.

Construction work expedited after the constant instructions from the High Court. Resultantly construction is reaching near the completion. It is informed that owing to the inordinate delay cost of the road construction work has increased staggeringly. Due to the unfinished work many accidents took place on this road which is known for heavy pressure of traffic and considered precarious for mishaps. This road remains busy round the clock.
