Rising cases of Coronavirus infection a matter of concern: Singhdeo

Raipur, Mar 30: Health Minister TS Singhdeo has expressed concern over rapid spread of Coronavirus infection in Durg and other districts of Chhattisgarh. He, however, ruled out lockdown saying that lockdown is not a solution to prevent spread of infection.
Referring to the figures of Coronavirus positive cases in Durg he said that one out of every two is getting infected by Coronavirus which is a matter of concern.
According to him the country and the state had earlier considered lockdown as option according to the situation earlier. But it cannot be a solution to prevent infection, he said.
The Health Minister said that the state’s positivity rate was at 0.99% in the first week of March, after which it increased slightly to 1.6% in the second week and by 1.8% in the third week. And in the fourth week it has gone up at 6%. He said that the rate at which the infection is spreading from 1% to 6% is a matter of great concern.
