Release of three with cattle seized raises eyebrows!

Central Chronicle News
Dongargaon, Oct 22: The team of 112 police with help of villagers a vehicle illegally carrying cattle in a pick-up Van and being taken to slaughter house under Dongargaon thana was seized. But with no action by police late in the evening has raised doubts in the mind of village and their true intentions.
It is notable that it was on information by villagers, a team of 112 reached Gram Chando at 10:30 am and tried to stop the vehicle illegally transporting cattle and it was jam-packed with animals. On seeing the police, the pick-up vehicle driver and two others in vehicle bearing No. CG 07 C 6338 tried to divert their vehicle towards Bhandaribharda. It was here that the 112 team managed to stop the vehicle and seized all cattle being illegally transported and they were brought back to Dongargaon thana at 12:00 noon.
But with no filing of case by the police by late evening, villagers started questioning intentions of police.
Villagers informed that during seizure of vehicle, two youth from Gram Atargaon and who were earlier involved in slaughter works had reached the village and even tried to take away the vehicle, but it was timely action by 112 and driver the two were nabbed and one of the accused managed to escape.
Working for money:
On reaching thana, the vehicle driver Bajrang Nishad R/o Atargaon informed that he is into this work just for money and he accepted the fact that behind this game Khomchand of Atargaon is the key figure. The accused informed that he along with two other colleagues had filled pick-up van with cattle from different places in Gram Chando and were taking it to a place as informed by Khomchad. Driver informed that Khomchand was with them and before coming to Thana he managed to escape. On the other hand there was involvement of some hefty policeman in conversation with driver and Khomchand in front of media persons in the thana and in that the person (policeman) had assured them to get released by evening.
Police says that cattle owners have donated this lot:
By afternoon, no action was taken on the three illegally transporting cattle and there were reports that all were released along with cattle by evening. Sub-Inspector Pradeep Kanwar without confirming informed that the animal owners have gifted these cattle and it was issued by Sarpanch with an affidavit and on presentation of the same all three were scot-free.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the accused have accepted that they are taking cattle to slaughter house and at the same time, Sarpanch Gram Chando Churman Nayak has denied issuing any affidavit to any of the persons on this day for transportation of cattle.
It is notable that filling cattle in small pick-up van (around 9 cattle) itself comes under cruelty towards animals and in such conditions, despite denial by three for taking the cattle to slaughter house, the police should have taken action on illegal transportation of cattle. TI Dongargaon was tried on his mobile, but he was not available.
