Raman takes a dig at Congress over appointment of parliamentary secretaries

Raipur, Jul 03
Bharatiya Janata Party National Vice President and former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Raman Singh took a dig at Congress government over reports of immediate appointment of parliamentary secretaries saying that Congress was implementing previous BJP government’s decisions which it had opposed while being in opposition.
Dr Singh said in an online conversation with some journalists here today that the Congress had moved High Court to Supreme Court, challenging constitutional validity of the appointment of the Parliamentary Secretaries by the previous BJP government in the state. Now 18 months after coming to power in the state it realized that steps of BJP government were correct. He said that Congress was contradicting its own statement and was following the steps taken by the BJP government.
He asked how come the decisions that seemed wrong by Congress when it was in opposition turned right after it came to power in the state. It is obvious that the Congress leaders were playing politics by deliberately misleading the people over correct decisions. He said that Congress could not prove even a single decision of previous BJP government as wrong despite its repeated attempts during 18 months of its rule in the state.
Rather Congress government is shirking off its responsibility from fulfilling election promises to the people. Dr Singh expressed thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its decision to extend the duration of Garib Kalyan Yojana for distribution of 5 kg wheat or rice and 1 kg daal to 80 crore poor families till November. He said that no government in the world implemented a programme for such a large population of poor of 1 lakh 50 thousand crores. He said that with the implementation of this scheme Mr Modi emerged as the messiah of the poor.
