Rain, strong winds bring mercury down in Delhi-NCR

New Delhi, Jul 02: Rain and strong winds bring respite from heatwave after parts of Delhi-NCR received light intensity rain.
Jhajjar, Mahendargarh, Farukhnagar, Bawal, Rewari in Haryana will also receive rainfall.
Barsana in Uttar Pradesh and Khairthal, Alwar, Deeg in Rajasthan will also receive light showers too during the next 2 hours.
Delhi on Thursday recorded a maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius, which is the highest maximum temperature recorded in July in the city in the last 90 years. The India Meteorological Department had earlier said that Delhi is likely to have some respite from the heat wave on Friday and Saturday when it is expected to receive light rain which may bring down its soaring temperatures by some degrees. The maximum temperature across the plains has crossed 40 degrees Celsius in the last few days, the IMD noted.
