
After video surfaced where in employees of a Railway vending contractor were spotted taking toilet water out to mix it with tea and coffee, the vendor has now been slapped with Rs 1 lakh fine.
The South Central Railway (SCR) made the statement to this effect.
The widely shared video on the social media attracted angry reactions from the masses.
The video showed how a vendor is coming out of a train toilet with tea and coffee cans, indicating that water was being mixed in the cans inside the toilet.
It is said that the incident had occurred in December last year, on board the Hyderabad Charminar Express at Secunderabad railway station.
On the basis of the video, the Railways instituted an inquiry which concluded with stringent action against the contractor.
The incident is said to have taken place for the section between Secunderabad and Kazipet.
The commercial department of the SCR has been carrying out extensive drives against unauthorized hawking at Secunderabad railway station.
