Raipur, Apr 22: BJP MLA and former minister Brijmohan Agrawal held discussions with Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday. Agrawal has demanded to provide adequate oxygen cylinders and ventilators to Chhattisgarh. He urged Dr. Harsh Vardhan that in view of the severe condition of corona in Chhattisgarh, there is a great need for oxygen cylinders and ventilators to save the lives of people. The state government is unable to meet it. Corona patients in the state are facing severe problem due to lack of oxygen and ventilator beds. Due to lack of medical facilities, the death rate in the state has gone up. Agrawal has requested the Union Health Minister to provide adequate ventilators and oxygen to the Government of Chhattisgarh. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has responded positively. He has said that if the proposal of the Chhattisgarh government is received, the Government of India will try to provide all these resources after considering it seriously. Brijmohan has urged the state government to send a proposal to all of these subjects at the earliest to the Union Government. The state government should also provide the private hospitals with the ventilator, loan on their guarantee, in view of the emergency, whatever the demand may be. Many hospitals in Chhattisgarh, which have ventilators, are not operational due to lack of trained staff. All these ventilators must be given to private hospitals with terms and conditions. A fixed rate must be set. This allows the public to get the benefit of ventilator. Agrawal has accused the state government is running away from its duties on better management of Covid. He said that the state government has failed to provide adequate oxygen cylinders and ventilators. The general public is not getting proper treatment. Due to lack of oxygen and ventilators, people are dying. Due to lack of testing kits in the entire state, adequate tests are not being conducted. The report of RTPCR is not available even in a week. The government is also playing hide and seek with affected patients and death statistics, he alleged.
