Proposal for inclusion of state’s language pending with Centre: Bhagat

Raipur, Mar 04: The very letter written by the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to the Prime Minister for inclusion of Chattisgarhi Language into the 8th Schedule of the Constitution is presently pending with the Central Government. The Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat gave the above information in written reply to a question in VS here on Thursday.
In his reply to a question by BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar Culture Minster Amarjeet Bhagat in his written reply informed the House that to protect the state’s language, dialects the writers and litterateurs of state were felicitation. He informed the House that to include Chhattisgarhi language into the 8th Schedule of the Constitution, CM Bhupesh Baghel wrote a letter to the Prime Minister on 13 Aug 2020 and this proposal is pending with the Central Government.
In the state, Chhattisgarhi dialect was included in the course curriculum in 2009-10. From 31 Dec 2018 to 31 Jan 2021, for protection of Chhattisgarhi language and local dialects many seminars and workshops were organized. Grants were sanctioned for publication of letters of the dialects spoken in the region and total of 11 writers of state were felicitated for their works on Chhattisgarhi language and dialects.
The objective of Chhattisgarh Rajbhasha is to safeguard the state’s rich and prosperous dialect , creativity, expression and to protect all the local dialects of Chhattisgarh and to promote and develop the same.
