
After Supreme Court stayed all criminal proceedings against actress Priya Prakash Varrier and director Omar Lulu, the actress who has recently become the ‘national crush’ of India, have expressed sigh of relief.
It need be mentioned that the two had been booked over allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Muslims in a song from their upcoming Malayalam film ‘Oru Adaar Love ‘.
The Supreme Court also directed that no FIR can be lodged in the case in future in any state against Varrier.
In response to this order, the actress said that the directive has come as a relief for starters like her.
She also expressed her gratitude to the massive support she received in the case.
Yesterday, the apex court agreed to an urgent hearing of a petition by the teenage Malayalam actress, who was seeking the quashing of FIRs lodged against her and film maker for a song.
It need be mentioned that Raza Academy, on February 16, had penned a letter to Union Information and Broadcasting minister Smriti Irani seeking a ban on the song from her debut movie.
