Prime Minister discusses virtual action plan of Amrit Utsav

Raipur, Mar 11: The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, discussed the action plan of Amrit Utsav to be celebrated on the 75th anniversary of independence through video conferencing. Culture Minister Amarjit Bhagat attended the meeting on behalf of Chhattisgarh. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will start the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ program from Gujarat on March 12.
It is notable that Mahatma Gandhi started the Dandi March on this day in 1930, which ended on April 5. The 25-day Amrit Utsav is also being started from the date of Gandhiji’s Dandi March. In the video conferencing, the major activities of the Amrit Utsav, celebrated on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of independence, were discussed. The festival will begin from Sabarmati in Gujarat on March 12 and will culminate in Dandi after covering a distance of 241 miles. All states and union territories will send their representatives to the event. The 75th anniversary of Independence will be remembered as freedom fighters who made valuable contributions to the independence of the country under the Amrit Utsav. When Gandhiji started the Civil Disobedience Movement under the British rule, the production and sale of salt was heavily taxed. Gandhiji started this Satyagraha to remove this tax as salt is an essential thing for life. It was one of Gandhiji’s many movements against British oppression by the British government to monopolize the country. Secretary of the Culture Department Mr. Anbalagan P. and Director Mr. Vivek Acharya were present in the video conferencing.
