Power Grid Corporation joins hands with AIIMS-R in Patient care
MoU signed for further strengthening ties between two Institutions

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has extended its help to patients coming from far-flung areas of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Bihar, UP, and other states. PGCIL pledged to provide medical equipment worth Rs 15.50 crore through its CSR funds. It includes a CT scanner and an ambulance.
A MoU was signed between PGCIL and AIIMS-R on Wednesday. Alok, Executive Director (Western Region-1), Prof. Ajai Singh, Director, AIIMS Raipur, Anshuman Gupta, Deputy Director (Admin.) and RK Dash, Sr. GM have signed a MoU in an online meeting with AIIMS-R and PGCIL, Nagpur Office.
Under the agreement, PGCIL will provide funds for procuring one CT Scan Machine and ambulance, along with Anesthesia Workstations (5), Recovery cum Patient shifting Trolley (20), Foldable Wheelchairs (100) and E-Rickshaws (2) with total financial implication of around 15.50 crore. All equipment will be utilized on the AIIMS campus for patient care. ‘It is a matter of pride for us to extend help to patients coming to AIIMS. PGCIL hopes that it will give immense relief to patients in terms of the waiting period for a CT scan after the new machine will be installed. Other equipment will also help in patient transportation and patient care, said Alok.
Prof. Singh said that AIIMS-R is providing state-of-the-art facilities to patients. There is a need for PSUs and other giant corporations to come forward and provide help to patients through their CSR funds, as envisioned in the MoU with PGCIL. All equipment will be procured through government sources by March 2024. “We hope that with the new CT scan machine we will be able to reduce waiting periods for patients, he added.
