Police tightens noose around anti-social elements

Bhilai, June 09: Under its crime prevention exercise, Durg Police is continuously taking action and is making efforts to tighten noose around the anti-social elements. Regular checking of goons and ruffians is being conducted across the district to create a deterring effect.
Under the directions of SP Prashant Thakur and ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw, constant patrolling is being done and immediate action is being taken against the trouble
makers.
In a recent incidence, two ruffians were rounded up with sharp weapons. Inspector Brijesh Kushwaha (SHO, Mohan Nagar) informed that the patrolling party received a tip off regarding a suspect who was threatening people with a knife in Aditya Nagar.
Police team immediately swung into action and the suspect Rahul alias Golu Verma (19) a resident of Kailash Nagar, Durg was taken in custody.
A sharp knife was also recovered from his possession. In another incidence, a ruffian was rounded up near Durvasa Gas Agency on similar charges. The accused Sahmuddin alias Raja Qureshi (19) son of Salim Qureshi was threatening people with a sharp knife.
Both the accused have been booked under the provisions mentioned in section 25 of Arms Act. ASI Kirendra Singh, Head Constable Ramesh Sharma, Constables Manish Agnihotri, Hiraman Sahu and Ashish played vital role in arresting the accused.
