Police takes action against people for boozing in public places

Bhilai, Sep 22: On the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police (Durg) Badri Narayan Meena, police took action against those who were found drinking in public places. Police teams led by SHOs of various police stations conducted the drive. They targeted the boozers in lonely places.
Checking was conducted in outer colonies of the city. Action was taken against the people involved in illegal sale of narcotics and liquor. A total of 68 cases were registered against the offenders under section 36 (f) and 36 (c) of Excise Act.
The drive was conducted on Wednesday on the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Badri Narayan Meena and under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjay Kumar Dhruv and Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Anant Kumar.
Police teams conducted surprise checks at public places and took action against those drinking alcohol at public places. Such drives would be conducted in future also.
