Police nabs 7 involved in looting incident

Recovers Rs 6.38 lakh, three mobile phones two bikes

Rajnandgaon, Mar 16:
It was based upon tip from an informer that two persons named Monu and Sunil Markam from Pendri Atal Aawas are spending money thriftlessly and when arrested the two, they gheraoed the two and seriously inquired them and both accepted their crime along with two other accused Shahbaz Khan alias Raja and Mahesh Thakur alias Chotu and accepted that they all have shared the looted amount of Rs 6.50 lakh from the trader. Seven accused in this crime were arrested by police from different locations along with the goods and motorbikes purchased by them with this amount and all of it was seized.
The police informed that the main accused in this was Mahesh Thakur alis Chotu S/o Premlal Thakur (23) R/o Haldi Katenga Bhart tehsil Lohara, District Balod and a cash of Rs 2 lakh was recovered from him, which he had kept in his Jupiter Scooter’s dickey, along with one mobile. The other accused was Santosh Kunjam alias Monu S/o Motilal Kunjan (20), R/o Atal Aawas Pendri Rajnandgaon and cash of Rs 1.50 lakh was recovered along with red-coloured Bajaj Company’s XCD motorcycle bearing No. CG 7 LK 3746. From other accused Shahbaz Khan, alias Raja S/o Abdul Mazeed (21) R/o Atal Aawas Rajnandgaon, cash of Rs 1.50 lakh was recovered and his motorcycle Passion bearing No. CG 08 AC 2311 and two mobile phones.
The other accused was Sunil Markam alias Golu S/o Bharat Markam (20) R\o Atal Aawas Yojana R’gaon with cash of Rs 15000, a Rs 12000 Samsung mobile phone and cash of another Rs 27000 from her mother Chitrlekha Cheddaiya. Accused Mnaoj Nagdeve S/o Ramji (22) a cash of Rs 1 lakh was recovered.
In this way 7 accused involved in this looting incident were arrested with total cash of Rs 6,38,860 and a mobile phone of Samsung costing Rs 12000 and motorcycle Passion Pro- CG 08 CG 2311 and motorcycle of Bajaj XCD bearing No. CG 07 LK 3746.
When interrogated the accused informed that they chalked out plan for this loot in the jail itself and when Mahesh Thakur came out of jail, along with his six other colleagues formulated this plan and kept constant vigil on movement of complainant Anand Tejwani S/o Khoobchand Tejwani running a grocery shop and finally it was just two days back they toppled him from his Scooty and ran away with cash o fRs 6.40 lakh in his possession.
