Police crackdown on Satta Bookies

Bhilai, Jun 27: On instructions on SSP Ajay Yadav, Durg Police team conducted raids at four different spots and arrested thirteen persons who were involved in illegal activity of Satta-Patti. Three of the accused are women. Rs 60710 cash, betting records of lakhs and rubber stamps were seized from their possession.
Raids were conducted under the leadership of CSP Vivek Shukla and Probationary DSP Nishant Pathak at four different spots including Apapura, which is considered as the local headquarters of Satta-Patti. Five bookies including three women were arrested from Apapura and Rs 41400 cash was recovered from them. Police seized 125 nos rubber stamps also from their possession. The accused used this stamp to provide receipts of satta betting to the gamblers. The accused were identified as Menka Sapha (32), Chukun sarwa (28), Vimla Sapha (41), Shekhar Sahay (51) and Manohar Ali (62).
In another raid at Chandi Mandir Square, Surendra Yadav (32) and Sandeep Yadav (20) were arrested with Rs 11010 cash. At Gaya Nagar, Rs 4990 was recovered from bookies identified as Domendra Mishra (73) and Roopchand Banwasi (60). At Bajrang Nagar, Rs 3310 cash was recovered from four bookies identified as Banshi Lal Sinha (52), Ram Nirmalkar (29), Vicky alias Devendra (28) and Keval Sahu (30).
Inspector Rajesh Bagde, SI Pawan Dewangan, ASI RL Verma, Head Constable Narendra Singh, Rajendra Wankhede, Santosh Pandey, Elizabeth Kujur, Champa Yadav, Constables Surendra, Javed, Pradeep, Harish, Veer and Farukh played vital role in arresting the accused.
