Police crack blind murder mystery in 12 hours

Rajnandgaon, Jul 12: Under Somni PS area below a bridge located at village Faharad dead body of an advocate was found on July 10 morning and the police were successful in arresting the accused in 12 hours after the recovery of the body. The advocate was murdered on July 9 night and in some parts of the body marks made by some sharp weapons were also found. After the matter was reported CSP Manishankar Chandra and trainee DSP Ruchi Verma along with their team reached the spot and started an investigation. In between police came across some vital clues and on the basis of these clues, suspects were arrested and four of them on interrogation accepted of their involvement in the murder of advocate. As per information received by the police, a youth named Sanjay Sahu of village Farhad came out of his house in the night after having his dinner and in the same night, he was murdered by the four persons. In this connection on the basis of the statement given by the members of the victim’s family, the deceased regularly had a dispute with the family members of his female friend. The female friend of the deceased, when questioned by the police, confirmed, deceased had a dispute with her cousin Nikhil Kosre and two days also had a dispute with Bhagwati Lahare. Police while scanning CCTV footage and call details came across differences in the recovered clues. This made the police to strongly interrogate the accused and finally, they accepted that four of them killed the deceased. Four of them collected on the ground at Sakra and consumed liquor, thereafter they hatched upon a plan to kill Sanjay Sahu. Main accused Bhagwati Sahu brought with him the weapon used to kill Sanjay and in two motorcycles reached village Farhad in the night. On the way to the village, they came across Sanjay sitting on a culvert taking over the phone. They surrounded Sanjay from all sides and killed him and thereafter threw the weapon in the pond they came across on the way while leaving the place. The accused were identified as Nikhil Kosre (21), Bhagwati Prasad Lahare(35), Sohan Barman (23) and Tarun Kumar (29).
