Permit cases of passenger vehicles should be resolved expeditiously: Transport Minister

More than 850 out of 1717 permit cases have been resolved in the state so far

Raipur, Jul 08: State Forest and Transport Minister Mohammad Akbar held a meeting of the Transport Department at the Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan and gave strict instructions to the authorities to expeditiously dispose of the applications for the permits of passenger vehicles. He also directed to pass an urgent order after hearing through video conferencing for speedy disposal of pending cases related to permits of remote divisions of the state.
So far, orders have been passed with the disposal of more than 850 cases out of the total 1717 application forms received by the single regional transport authority in the state. In this, a division-wise date has also been fixed for speedy disposal of pending cases.
Under this, the Chairman of the Single Regional Transport Authority, Dr. Kamalpreet Singh said that the pending cases related to bus permits of Durg division are being resolved from the office of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar from July 6, which will continue till July 8. After this, orders will be passed after hearing on July 9 and 10 for disposal of pending cases of Raipur division. Presently keeping in view the corona crisis, the hearing will be done through video conferencing to resolve the pending cases of bus permits in remote divisions of Bastar, Sarguja and Bilaspur in the state. Under this, the cases of Bastar division on July 13 and 14, Surguja division on July 15 and 16 and Bilaspur division on July 17 will be heard. On this occasion, Secretary of the Single Regional Transport Authority, Mr. T.R. Paikra and Deputy Transport Commissioner GC Meshram were present.
