Raipur, May 26: On his return after taking part in CWC meeting in Delhi, CM Bhupesh Baghel said that the decision on new PCC Chief will be taken by the party High Command. We have already communication about this to the party High Command earlier. CM informed that during this meeting the defeat in LS polls 2019 was reviewed in CWC.
All the more CM Bhupesh Baghel will have full and final say over the new PCC Chief to be appointed in State, as they have the challenge to face the Civic Body polls with the strong Opposition party.
It is notable here that after party’s defeat in the last LS polls 2019, the party High Command has called all the Chief Ministers of Congress ruled states and CWC members to Delhi from all over the country.
It is worthwhile to mention here that after defeat in last LS polls and party winning just two seats in Chhattisgarh, the chances of change in leadership of the Organisation has increased in PCC. The meeting of CWC is in one way first step towards this, as the party needs to revive itself, right from ground-level to senior posts in the organization.
It is notable that in this CWC meeting, all the Chief Ministers of Congress ruled states have given proposal for resignation, after its submission by PCC Chief of MP and CM Kamalnath. It is with decision for re-organisation of PCC at state-level that change of guard in PCC is more or less sure now.
It may be recalled that CM Bhupesh Baghel right after assuming office as CM has made proposal to quit the post of PCC Chief in the state, but he was asked to continue by the party High Command, keeping in view the Lok Sabha polls which followed immediately after the VS polls in state in November 2018.
Sources in the organization informed that CM Bhupesh Baghel now wants to focus on the working of his Government and find out solution to major lacunae in the system under the leadership of Raman government in the state earlier and bring back the state’s economy on the right track. At the organiastional level after review of LS polls results, the action plan for the forthcoming Civic Body polls will be prepared.
As such the organization has already accepted that with dual responsibility on CM Bhupesh Baghel, it can have effect on day-to-day working of state government and making policy decisions.
