Over 30 city buses to run upto new bus stand from next week

Raipur, Nov 21: The Raipur Municipal Corporation and the district administration are gradually starting the operation of city buses to bring the passengers of every route to the new bus stand built in Bhathagaon and to bring the passengers back to the city and outside the city. Administration officials have assured to start operation of more than 30 city buses in the city in a week.
In fact people had to spend Rs 10 to Rs 15 to come to Pandri bus stand earlier, but after shifting of bus stand to Bhathagaon, the auto and e-rickshaw drivers are arbitrary charging Rs 100 to Rs 300 to the passengers. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to run city buses in every route of the city so that the passengers can reach the bus stand with less expense.
The Municipal Corporation started 5 city buses, but these are considered insufficient. The Collector held a meeting with the concerned officers including the Municipal Commissioner and it was decided that at least 30 city buses would be made operational within a week. Negotiations have also started with the transport officers regarding the permit-fitness of city buses.
City buses will be plying on roads around the city. City buses will be operated on the way of buses coming from Balodabazar, Bilaspur, Bhilai and Gariaband. Apart from this, people will also be brought to Ranwabhata Bus Terminal by city buses from many places including major roads of the city like Jaistambh Chowk, DKS, Nagar Ghari Chowk, Kalibari Chowk.
The collector told the officers that the route chart of all the city buses would be prepared. Wherever there is a need, the stoppage of buses should also be increased.
