Online Lecture Series organised at St Thomas College

Bhilai, Apr 13:PG Department of Botany organised a week long Lecture Series on Basics and Advanced Plant Breeding Techniques for post graduate students in online mode. Dr Varaprasad Kolla (Prof, Kalinga University, Raipur), Dr Pratibha Bisen (Asst Prof, JNKVV, Balaghat), Dr Somnath Sarvade (Asst Prof, JNKVV, Balaghat), Dr Andrea Pereira (Asst Prof, ITM, Raipur), Dr Meenakshi Mishra (Asst Prof, ITM, Raipur) delivered lectures on Plant breeding methods, Hybridisation, Inbreeding Depression, Alien gene transfer, Transfer of chromosome segments and Forest Biotechnology. Current and former PG students were benefitted by the lecture series. Principal Dr MG Roymon and Administrator Dr (Fr) Joshi Varghese appreciated the effort of Dr Vinita Thomas, Head, Botany Department for organising the lecture series.
