Get 100 percent admission on vacant seats in colleges: Dewangan

Raipur, Oct 09: Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Dhananjay Dewangan, discussed with the Vice Chancellors of Universities and Principals of schools regarding admission in colleges, online classes, exam results and courses through video conferencing at Mantralaya on Friday. Dewangan asked the Vice Chancellors to release the exam results on time. The university vice chancellors should pay special attention to the quality of education. He said that the date of admission in colleges has been fixed till October 22. No seats remain vacant in all the colleges of the state, admissions should be given on 100 percent seats. Dewangan asked to give priority in admission to promote girl child education in colleges. Secretary Mr. Dewangan said that a committee has been constituted to reduce the courses at the undergraduate level in order to complete the courses on time. Guidelines will be given on getting suggestions from the committee. Due to Corona epidemic, online classes have to be arranged for studying in colleges. He said that classes should be started from November 1. In all the colleges, Mr. Dewangan asked to follow all corona safety measures strictly. He also reviewed construction work, equipment purchase, pension and compassionate appointment in all the colleges of the state. In the meeting, the vice chancellors informed that the results of all the examinations will be declared by the end of October. Currently the evaluation work is going on. In order to be able to get 100 percent seats in colleges, suggestions were also given to increase the date for admission from October 22 to October 30. Commissioner of Higher Education Department Mrs. Sharda Verma and other officials were present in the meeting.
