Old home inmates administered Covid vaccine

Bhilai, Mar 17: The first dose of Covid vaccination was given to the inmates of the old age home run by the Social Welfare Department. They received the vaccine at district hospital in presence of Social Welfare Department Secretary Shahla Nigsar and Director P Dayanand. She enquired about the well being of the elderly people at the district hospital.
A total of 55 people were vaccinated in the district hospital on Tuesday. Additional Collector BB Panchabhai, Joint Director Pankaj Verma, Deputy Director Social Welfare Mr Thakur and other officers were
present.
Secretary of Social Welfare Department inspected the old age home located in Pulgaon, which is run by the Social Welfare Department. During the inspection, she met old ladies Pushpa Sahu (68 years) and Gyasi Devi (80 years) and inquired about their health. Gyasi Devi told that she has digestion problem.
Pushpa Sahu said that she has heart ailment and is undergoing treatment. Secretary asked the administrative officials to make necessary arrangements if surgery is needed at any stage of treatment. She said that special attention should be paid to the health of all the elderly and regular medical checkups should be done.
Secretary instructed the officials to take full care of the entertainment of the elderly. Pay special attention to food according to their condition. Considering the corona infection, the use of masks and cleanliness arrangements should always be taken care of.
She further instructed to develop and maintain the garden in a better manner so that they can get a nice place for entertainment in the mornings and evenings.
