Offence of Stalking: Charge-sheet produced within 68 hours

Bhilai, Nov 21: Dealing the cases of crime against women in a sensitive manner, Durg Police has once again done an appreciable task by filing charge sheet within 68 hours of the crime. The accused had trespassed into the house of a minor girl and stalked and molested her. ASP (Rural) Praggya Meshram informed that the incidence occurred on November 15 at around 23:00 hrs. The victim is a minor girl who resides in village Dhour of Jamul Police Station area.
The 19-year-old accused trespassed into the victim’s house and molested her with the intention of outraging her modesty. On victim’s complaint, Police lodged an FIR under sections 457, 354 (D), and 354 of IPC and Section 8 of POCSO Act. Taking the matter into serious cognizance, SP Prashant Thakur directed the cops to immediately arrest the accused and conduct other legal formalities at its earliest. The accused was arrested at around 14:00 hrs on November 16 and Jamul Police filed the charge-sheet at the court within 68 hours. The accused has been sent to jail on judicial remand.
Police informed that the accused had troubled the victim earlier also. He had trespassed into the victim’s house on March 14 also. At that time also, a case was lodged against him under section 454, 354 of IPC and Section 8 of POCSO Act. He was sent to jail that time also but after being released from jail on bail, he against stalked the victim. The accused is identified as Toshendra Vishwakarma alias Bunty (19) son of Emal Kishore a resident of Tiranga Square, Dhour.
