Notorious burglar, accomplice arrested for major burglary

Raipur, Sep 17: In a major success Tikrapara police and Raipur Police Cyber Cell on Friday arrested a notorious burglar and his accomplice in connection of a broad daylight burglary in a locked house in Mathpara locality on September 1 last. Police have also succeeded in recovering the entire booty worth Rs 13.50 lakh.
According to police, complainant Anupriya Upadhyay is a resident of Pallavi Vihar lane no.2 in DD Nagar and works as a HR Manager in a private firm. Since August 25 last she had moved to her mother’s house situated in Mathpara locality. Her mother is an employee of Raipur Municipal Corporation and hence she too is out of the house during the morning hours.
On September 1, when Anupriya returned from her office, she was stunned to find the main door’s bolt uprooted and the lock lying nearby. Entering inside, she found everything was completely ransacked and the almirahs were broken open and lying empty. It was further examined that the intruders had taken away 260 gm gold ornaments, 160 gm silver ornaments and cash Rs 1000, all totaling to Rs 13.50 lakh. She them complained the burglary in Tikrapara police station following which an offence under Section 454, 380 IPC against unidentified burglars.
Further investigation in this regard led information about notorious burglar Karan Sendre of Pensionbada locality. It was stated that Karan with another accomplice was roaming around the house since a couple of days before the burglary.
Knowing his number of burglary offences, police immediately picked him up for further interrogation. After initially denying of having committed the burglary, Karan ultimately confessed his crime and also told police about his accomplice and neighbor Abhimanyu Nayak. Police then detained Abhimanyu as well and later recovered from them the entire booty they had stolen.
