NIT Raipur organizes 13th convocation ceremony with zeal

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur organized its 13th Convocation Ceremony on 13th May 2023 at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur. Dr Shailendra V. Gade, Scientist & Director General (ACE), Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), Alumnus, NIT Raipur graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Dr (Mrs) AB Soni, Director & Acting Chairman, Board of Governors, NIT Raipur presided over the ceremony. All the Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members were also present in the event.

Dr (Mrs) AB Soni, Director & Acting Chairman, Board of Governors, NIT Raipur incepted the ceremony by delivering the institute report and the presidential address, upholding the dignity and superlative legacy of the institute. She elucidated the long list of numerous accomplishments that the 58-year-old Institute of National Eminence and Dignity upholds and the rich legacy it behooves. She also briefed the institute’s long-term future plans and aimed to foster state-of-the-art enterprise among the intelligentsia by facilitating the best of the opportunities.

Dr. Shailendra Gade delivered the convocation address and illuminated the environment with his scintillating words of paramount wisdom and knowledge. He complimented the incessant efforts of the students and encouraged all the young, enthusiastic minds to further raise their yardsticks of accomplishments and aims in life.

The Convocation felicitations began with felicitating the PhD holders, followed by the Postgraduate and Undergraduate intelligentsia. Dr. (Mrs.) A. B. Soni, Director & Acting Chairman, Board of Governors, NIT Raipur did the honours for the same.

This year, a humongous participation was witnessed from the students and their proud parents. In the 13th convocation of the Institute, a total of 1214 students including 896 undergraduate students, 238 post graduate students and 80 PhD researchers are eligible for degrees. 730 students did physical registration. First of all, degrees were awarded to PhD and M Tech students of the institute. 47 academically exceptional and competent students were felicitated with gold and silver medals. 13 undergraduates and 11 postgraduates received gold medals while 12 undergraduates and 11 postgraduates received the silver medals. Yeleti Sri Satyalakshmi, B.Tech, Information Technology bagged the Institute Gold medal for being the Overall Topper for the year 2022. All other students were also awarded degrees.

Toward the end, all the awardees unanimously participated in the official oath-taking ceremony, resonating with the words of honor and responsibility spoken by Dr (Mrs) AB Soni, Director & Acting Chairman, Board of Governors, NIT Raipur. Dr Shailendra Gade presented a memento to the institute as a humble obeisance encapsulating some of his cherished memories in the institute. He was also felicitated with a memento for sparing his valuable time and acknowledging the honorary entitlements. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
