NIT Raipur Celebrates the National Sports Day

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur’s Shaurya- The Sports Committee concluded the ‘National Sports Day’ celebration with Felicitation Ceremony on Tuesday. The Sports Extravaganza was smoothly conducted under the efficient guidance of Dr. Harendra Narang, Faculty In-Charge, Shaurya.
Dr. NV Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur was the Chief Guest of the ceremony.
Moving ahead with the event, a PPT presentation describing the achievements of Shaurya, glimpses of SAMAR’22, and highlights of the National Sports Day was shown. Followed by this, the prize distribution ceremony of faculties took place. In Marathon, Dr. G D. Ramtekkar, Professor, Civil Engineering, Dr. Pavan Kumar Mishra, Assistant Professor, Information Technology, and Dr. Manoj Pradhan, Professor, Mining Engineering were felicitated with the first, second and third positions respectively. In table tennis, Dr. S. Pramanik, Assistant Professor, Architecture, Dr. Dharm Pal, Associate Professor, Chemical Engineering got felicitated. While, in Chess, Dr. VK Singh, Biotechnology won the accolade. Later on, Dr. NV Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur took the pledge for instilling the spirit of sports and physical fitness among the attendees. The winning teams and students of various categories were also felicitated with rewards and medals.
