Narayanpur district still lagging behind in higher education

Central Chronicle News
Narayanpur, Nov 15: The Narayanpur district is still lagging behind when it comes to higher education and the youths from rural areas had to move out in order to avail higher education. Every year thousands of students, both boys and girls passout from Class 12th and with increasing strength of students, the students who are deprived of admission are forced to move out or appear as private candidate.
In view of above problems, the denizens of the district have raised demand for Government College in Gram Chotedongar and Benur of Narayanpur District. It is notable here that with many students passing out from Chotedongar and Benur, both from Class 10th and 12th, they have earlier also raised demand for opening of Government College for them so as to make higher education within accessible reach.
Sanctioned Govt. Girl’s College yet to see light of day:
The Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel among formation of new Districts has made declaration for opening of Govt. Girl’s College and it was included in the state’s budget two years back. With sanction for this Govt Girl’s College, declaration was made at that time to start the new session from next academic session.
But even after two years of this declaration and sanction, the establishment of this College is yet to see the light of the day. Now the voice for opening of this new College is increasing manifold. In Kondagaon district hq’s, a Govt Girl’s College has been opened from this year, whereas the delay on part of the government to open a Govt College in Naryanpur is still beyond one’s understanding.
It is primarily lack of political will and lackadaisical an attitude on part of the local MLA and other public representatives of the region that the opening of Government College for students of the region to pursue higher education still seems to be a distant dream.
