NABARD, Raipur disburses Rs 4486 crores during 2017-18

Raipur, Apr 16: NABARD’s total financial assistance in Chhattisgarh State stood at Rs4486 crore during 2017-18, thus registering a growth of 76 % during last two years. During the year NABARD disbursed an amount of Rs. 1087crores to Govt. of Chhattisgarh in its quest for supporting Rural Infrastructure in the State under RIDF which includes innovative projects like Protected Farming, 25000 Solar Powered Irrigation Pump Sets under Saur Sajama Scheme and other traditional projects. Under Saur Sajama Scheme, targeted beneficiaries are mainly small farmers in un-electrified areas/remote habitations. The 5hp systems can deliver about 1, 24,000 liters of water /day with 70 meters dynamic head. The farmers are saved of the burden of electricity charges, said NP Mahapatra, CGM, NABARD Chhattisgarh while speaking to the scribes here
GOI/NABARD has identified 3 major irrigation Projects namely Kelo, Kharung and Maniyari with original cost of Rs 716 cr(State Share Rs 525 cr and Central Share Rs 191 crore) under Long Term Irrigation Fund (LTIF). MoA with Govt of Chhattisgarh to avail financial assistance has already been signed. The sanction is under process, he said.
NABARD has sanctioned loan of Rs 40.35crore to M/s. Indus Best Mega Food Park (a designated mega food park approved by Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India) in Tilda block.
NABARD supports short-term credit for multipurpose to farmers under Direct lending to Cooperative Bank for which Raipur DCCB has been sanctioned Rs 30 crore. Rs 77 crore has been disbursed under Warehouse Infrastructure Fund (WIF)for creation of 53 rural godowns with a storage capacity of 3 lakh MT in Chhattisgarh State. NABARD has disbursed Rs 1500 crore to CG MARKFED for Paddy Procurement in the State. NABARD has also sanctioned Rs 902.63 crore to Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company Ltd (CSPTCL) for establishment of Substations & Power Transmission Systems for providing electricity in rural areas.
NABARD is promoting FPOs to enable them toget better prices of their produce and avoiding distress selling of roduce NABARD has sanctioned 57 FPOs with 24123 Farmers as members. Rs 1.80 crore has already been disbursed to the FPOs in Chhattisgarh.
NABARDs WADI Model for promoting Horticulture Development in Tribals for livelihoods is tested & accepted model to be replicated on large scale for increasing incomes of tribal farmers. 80 WADI projects with support of Rs 265 crore are under implementation in 18 districts covering 53000 tribal families contributing to increasing incomes of Tribal Farmers. On the occasion Awadesh Kumar, GM and Mahesh Goyal, DGM were present.
