‘My mother was born while my nani was travelling from Rawalpindi to Chandigarh’
Mumbai : Sony Entertainment Television’s Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye to bring vivid aspect in the life of the viewers when the cast of the show brings some aesthetic works into the picture under the backdrop of Pre Independence Era. The characters in the show replicates the gesture – posture of the Pre 1947 Era which makes them distinct from others shows. And, into the celebrated family of the show the renowned artist Raymon Singh to be part of Kyun Utthe dil chhod ayae
Talking about the character, Raymon Singh says, “I am very delighted to be a part of the family of Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye and looking forward to work with them . This time my character for this show is set at the back drop of Independence era where there is a notion in the society for women that they have some specific roles to do and they need to adhere to it, my character is very fast forward and have a modern thinking which is more inclined towards equality. Though I respect our traditional cultures but on the contrary I would love to be a part of the modern era which has an essence of uniformity. Adding to the character, she said, I belong from Karachi in the show and will be playing a role of Randheer’s Mother.
When asked her about any resemblance to the character and what made her to took this role. She said, it gave me an instant heat in my mind to portray this role as I belong from Indore but Maternal ancestors are from Pakistan ( Rawalpindi) and has a major cinematic story behind it, During the partition time, when my nani was travelling from Rawalpindi to Chandigarh, my mother was born at that time on 19th August 1947. and even, My Husband ancestors belongs from Lahore. So, all of this element added the belief in me and so I took this role.
