Raipur: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Protection and Cottage Industries Punnulal Mohile convened meeting of Departmental Secretaries at new state secretariat here on Tuesday. He took information about the preparations for paddy purchase for Khariff marketing year 2017-18.
Secretary Food Department Richa Sharma informed that all preparations for paddy purchase has been completed. In this regard, field staff and officers have been imparted training. She informed that this year paddy purchase from farmers in cash and linking
will be done from 15 Nov. 2017 to 31 Jan 2018. Maize will be purchased at Minimum Support Price (MSP) from 15
Nov 2017 to 31 May 2018.
The Government of India (GoI) has fixed Rs 1550 per quintal as MSP for below FAQ paddy and Rs 1590 per quintal as MSP for Grade-A paddy. This year paddy purchase will be done from 1992 paddy purchase centres in state. Richa Sharma also gave information
about the arrangements made for gunny bags for paddy purchase and other preparations as well. Meeting was attended by Secretary Gramodyog Department Niharika Barik Singh and she also gave information about various departmental activities.
