Model police stations to be awarded in Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has instructed for development of model police stations in Chhattisgarh. In accordance with his wish, programme for model police stations and model SHOs is going to be launched on July 1.
Director General of Police DM Awasthi said that model police stations fulfilling the specified parameters will be awarded. Awasthi announced this while holding discussion with more than 128 SHOs of the state through video calling app today. He told SHOs that some parameters were laid down for model police stations. Conduct of SHOs and other staff with the common man is one of the parameters. He also emphasized to create an atmosphere in police stations where victims of crime, women and children can speak out without fear. He also stressed the need to be sensitive towards the complainants and take immediate action to redress their grievances.
He said that the police should take stern action against goons, miscreants and anti-social elements. Records should be properly maintained in police stations, he said and added that police stations must have a positive atmosphere. He also called for healthy competitions among all the police stations so that the maximum number of them can become model police stations. Also present on the occasion were ADGs RK Vij and Himanshu Gupta, Durg IG Vivekanand Sinha, Raipur IG Dr Anand Chhabda.
