Raipur, Jul 09:

Four Minister of Bhupesh Baghel government on Thursday called on Governor to urge approval to the pending five Legislations.
Ministers informed the Governor Anusuiya Uike that delay in approval has resulted in delay in selection of Vice Chancellor in four Universities of Chhattisgarh. Governor has assured the Ministers to take decision after going through the legal provisions on the proposed legislations.
According to the information received, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Md Akbar, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shivkumar Daharia and Minister for Higher Education Umesh Patel paid a courtesy visit to Governor at Rajbhawan on Thursday afternoon. They said that five legislations which were passed from the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly during the Budget session were yet to get approval from Governor. It is notable that the key tussle on the issue was the amendment brought by the government in the University Amendment Legislation which has reduced the majority of power from the office of Governor. Similarly, the representative of UGC in the committee of the appointment of Vice Chancellor too has been scrapped. Governor had sought certain clarification on the issues from the state government.
Department has already forwarded the reply and had been urging for approval. Ministers presented their stand on the above issues during the meeting with Governor.
Governor would now hold talks with the top officials before taking a decision on the pending Legislations.
