Micro Observers to keep close eye on counting of votes

Micro Observers, who would be present as representatives of General Observers appointed by Election Commission, would keep a close eye on every table during counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections on May 23. The Micro Observers would be filling the information of results of every round in the Performa which would be forwarded to the Election Commission Observers.
Micro Observers were imparted training of first phase for counting of votes at a session held at District Collectorate in presence of District Returning Officer Dr Basavraju S on Thursday.
It is notable that the central employees have been deployed on every counting tables as Micro Observers for the Lok Sabha election counting of votes. District Returning Officer provided them detail information about their responsibilities and the process of counting of votes. They were informed about the counting of postal ballots, counting of votes from EVMs as well as counting of slips of VVPAT during the process. District Returning Officer made it clear that the Micro Observers are not part of the counting team but would be present as representative of Central Observers on every table during the counting process. They would watch about the execution of counting is being taken in accordance of directives of Election Commission. These officials have been asked to be present at Sejbahar-based Government Engineering College campus by 6 o’clock in the morning. Additional Collector Deepak Agrawal, Deputy District Returning Officer Rajiv Pandey and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
