Mega blood donation camp of doctors

Raipur, Jun 29: A mega blood donation camp is going to be organized on Thursday July 1, 2021 on the occasion of Doctors Day under the joint auspices of Medical Teachers Association and Junior Doctors Association in Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College Raipur.
Medical teachers, junior doctors, staff and graduate students of the college will donate their blood at the camp. About 125 to 150 blood units are expected to be collected at the camp.
President of Medical Teachers Association and Head of Department of Pathology, Professor Dr Arvind Neral will donate 116th blood of his life. Doctors are eagerly and enthusiastically awaiting this opportunity to render their holy services to bring succor to the needy. This meaningful effort of social concern by the doctors will not only fulfill the need of blood, but will also become a medium of encouragement and inspiration for the potential young blood donors of the society.
After blood donation all the doctors will gather in front of the college building at around 2 pm for group photography. Plantation would also be carried out at the college campus on Doctors Day to create greenery. In a press statement Dr Neral informed that doctors’ felicitation ceremony would be held on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Senior and junior doctors of the college who have discharged their medical duties with enthusiasm, dedication and courage even in the most difficult circumstances of the COVID-19 global pandemic will be will be honored at the felicitation function.
Health Minister TS Singhdeo will be present on the occasion as chief guest. Principal Secretary Health Dr Alok Shukla, Secretary Shahla Nigar, Director Medical Education Dr RK Singh, Dean Dr Vishnu Dutt and Hospital Superintendent Dr Vinit Jain will be present as special guests at the felicitation function which will begin at 11 am at newly constructed auditorium in the college campus.
For the first time in the history of Medical College, Raipur, the felicitation ceremony of doctors is being organized on such a large scale. Dr Omkar Khandwal, Dr Jaya Lalwani, Dr Devpriya Lakra, Dr Nirmal Verma, Dr RL Khare, Dr Debapriya Rath, Dr Diwakar Dhurandhar and other members of the association are actively contributing in this event.
