Massive plantation be carried out near industries, mines: Md Akbar

Raipur, Jun 07: Housing and Environment Minister Md Akbar said that massive plantation should be carried out near industries and mines. He said that all industries must fulfill their targets during rainy season. Action should be taken against the industries failing to fulfill the target, he said adding that such industries should also be issued notices. Akbar reviewed plantation work at a meeting of Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board officers here today.
The Minister said that industries should also take care of trees after plantation. Board officials should regularly monitor plantation works, he said. According to him large scale plantation near industrial areas and mines will help solve problem of industrial pollution to a large extent.
Environment Conservation Board’s member secretary RP Tiwari informed that board was undertaking massive plantation through all prominent industries. Condition of plantation had been laid before the industries obtaining clearance from the board for establishment and management, he said. Similarly plantation is carried out near mines according to mining plan. The meeting was attended by the board officers from Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Korba, Raigarh, Ambikapur and Jagdalpur regional offices.
