Martyred General Bipin Rawat: A tribute

Balodabazar, Dec 11: The Principal, teachers and students of Allons Public school offered condolences and homage to Late Bipin Rawat, a four-star general of the Indian army, and the first CDS of armed forces, on his sudden demise in an air crash on 8/12/2021. He hailed from a family that had been serving in the Indian Army for multiple generations.
During his career of nearly 43 years, he was awarded with the Param VishishtSeva Medal, UttamYudhSeva Medal, AtiVishishtSeva Medal, YudhSeva Medal, Sena Medal, VishishtSeva Medal, the COAS Commendation on two occasions and the Army Commander’s commendation. He had also published a number of papers on defence related issues.
Dr. Satyajit Hota, the Principal lamented the loss and elaborated on Gen. Rawat’s achievements, education, and various aspects of his personality, such as benevolence, humility,courage, strategic capabilities, ability to lead from the front in dealing with the Kashmir issue, display of his intimidating presence to countries like Pakistan, China, Nepal, and Afghanistan.
Dr Hota shared an incident from Bipin Rawat’s life to illustrate a blend of toughness and benevolence of Gen Rawat’s when, in an elite gathering, Gen Rawat had not forgetten to ask whether his driver had taken meal. He motivated the students to join the armed forces.
